Elevate
Building cyber careers with people who’ve been there.
Real mentors. Clear direction. The future of cyber.
After 15 years in education, moving into cyber felt like a new chapter, but there was a piece missing for me. There’s something special about seeing the light turn on in a young person. I enjoyed helping businesses manage cyber risk, and I wanted to keep helping young people realise their potential too.
The idea for Elevate came when I first moved into cyber. It became the heart of Elevation 6 and the inspiration behind the name.
The 6 is a nod to the best team I’ve worked with in cyber: five people across multiple employers. Elevation 6 is the next iteration of that team, and some of them work with me now.
One careers day stayed with him.
At a school in Melbourne's outer suburbs, a group of Year 10s sat down for careers counselling. They all named the same few jobs.
They were choosing from the jobs they knew about.
Cyber was not on the list.
How Elevate works
First intake in 2027.
Elevate works with groups under-represented in cyber. Through Elevate, Elevation 6:
Hosts work experience students
School students join Elevation 6 for work experience.
Employs paid interns
University and TAFE students join as paid interns and train in cyber risk management. We hire some and recommend others to firms we trust.
Mentors new starters
Students and recent graduates get a mentor as they start out in cyber.
Supports educators
Teachers at all levels get support through extension programs and school visits.
Publishes the results
Each year, we publish what Elevate has achieved.
Are you a student, recent graduate or educator? Register your interest and we’ll be in touch before intake opens.
